How have you customized your X1 Camper?

My X1 is set up as camp-mode full time. The DIY build-out is based around carrying my adventure fat bike inside without hampering access to the tent area or items used at camp.

I am running a Dometic CFX3, 75L dual-zone cooler, I built out the plumbing system with pTex plumbing consisting of a 15 gallon (56L) water tank, Shurflo pump and accumulator. My cabinetry is framed using 10 series extrusion and enclosed with 1/4" birch plywood. I use 3 Super Pacific MOLLE panels cab side for storing camp tools, straps and paracord, and attaching my electrical distribution panel (12V & 120V A/C).

I fabricated a couple tubing brackets to store my plywood table that attaches to the swing arm in camp. The side doors carry various items. I have attached my rear camper to the inside of the rear door window. I am using an OVS 270 awning and have a set of Shittco awning kits. Inside lighting is from a LED strip light set up.

My build out is to glampily carry me to bikepacking adventures, as well as, baseglamping for a variety of day mountain biking.

What do you love most about your setup?

Everything! The flexibility to build to my needs, and the ability to adapt to change as I use it more and more. Has been everything I had envisioned.

Favorite piece of gear in your camper?

Just one? hahaha - All of it is favorite, but immediately popping into mind is my dual zone, that freezer has been such a great multi-day appliance (can you say ice cream?)

Best unexpected benefit of owning your X1?

Conversation starter - the compliments, the chats with people I would not have met otherwise.

Do you have a favorite adventure you've taken your camper on?

Utah, Pikes and Plateaus bikepack trip - super campspot outside of Monticello, UT. Then, from Moab taking the backroads through small towns on the return to Portland. Camping in beautiful landscapes, talking with so many locals about their area. (Optional: being camp mother as SAG support for my friends on a 300mile bikepack trip in Idaho)
