How much does the X1 Camper weigh?

The X1 weighs between 345 - 397 lbs. depending on truck model. Shoot us an email if you are looking for the exact weight of a fitment.

What does "Built Like An Airplane" mean?

The X1 Camper is fabricated using the same tried-and-true methods used for over 100 years to engineer and fabricate commercial and military airplanes. Laser-cut sheet aluminum, fastened with solid aircraft rivets. Airplanes undergo extreme amounts of stress and vibration, making rivets a perfect solution that stands up over time.

There's easier ways to make a truck camper frame, but in our opinion there's none better.

No other truck camper is built like this, making the foundation of the X1 the lightest, strongest canopy fuselage on Earth.

You can watch a video on our YouTube channel here.

What accessories are available?

We offer a full eco-system of accessories in our Gear Shop.

Can the canopy doors be unlocked & opened from the inside?

Yes! The canopy doors use a single handle that can be easily locked, unlocked and opened from the inside, without needing to use the key.

Can solar panels be installed on the roof?

Yes! The roof of the X1's clamshell has universal t-slots allowing you to mount solar panels to the roof of the camper without needing to drill anything.

The cabside of the camper has 2 pre-drilled holes that can be used to route solar wiring (or other wiring) from the exterior of the camper to the internal wire chases.

Is the X1 compatible with 270° awnings?

Yes! Most common 270° awnings* work great with the X1's universal t-slots and our Universal Awning Brackets.

We recommend using 3 of our awning brackets for the most secure installation.

*We do not support the AluCab Shadow Awning due to the excessive weight it places at the rear of the camper.

Will it clear the antenna on the cab of my truck?

Yes. We design our fitments to account for proper clearance above OEM antennas on all truck models.

For the Ford Ranger we recommend replacing your stock antennae with a shorter after-market antennae, like this.

Can you use a ladder with the X1 Camper?

Yes! The sleeping area and tent can be accessed either via the interior of the truck bed, or from any of the 3 tent doors using your own ladder.  Ladder brackets can be mounted to the extrusion of the clamshell.

Do you offer financing?

Financing is available through United Midwest Savings Bank, including 6 and 12 Month 0% APR options, for qualified buyers.

How is it different from a rooftop tent?

Internal Access: Rooftop tents are designed to be accessed from the outside of your van. You have to climb an exterior ladder to the top of your van, unlatch and open your tent and shimmy in, all from the outside of your van. No matter what the weather is like.

More Space: CloudCap™ is 112" inches long, making it significantly larger than most standard rooftop tents.

Simple Setup & Takedown: pop-up and take down happens from the inside of your van. No without ever having to step outside your van, if the weather turns south.

Vent Fan Compatible: In addition to our passive FlowState vents, popular vent fans (like MaxxAir for example) can be installed to keep the fresh air flowing.

Walkable Roof: unlike rooftop tents, CloudCap's durable roof is capable of supporting a person standing and walking on it, up to 300 lbs.
