He enjoys biking, fishing, cooking, camping, and tinkering with his SuperPacific X1 build.  He once I worked at a surf park in central Texas owned by Doug Coors, an heir of the original Coors Brewing Company. While there her photographed and surfed with Laura Dern, Jimmy Buffet and a bunch of Redbull athletes.

How’d you get started in the outdoors?

I grew up in Florida and spent many weekends fishing with my dad and continued doing so into adulthood. I’d always find a body of water and wonder “could I catch something out of here?” When I moved to Texas and first met my girlfriend (now wife) she introduced me to hammock camping. Then we got into a ground tent, which became an obsession with rooftop tents, and then that led to us finding SuperPacific. We both love traveling and the outdoors, and it means doing many different activities including fishing, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, camping. I owe it all to people close to me that have shared their passions.

Does your camping rig have a nickname?

Taco. In our house, you’ll often hear, “Man, I love tacos,” or “Whoa, did you see that taco drive by?” or “I think we should take the taco out camping by the river this weekend.”

Top 3 favorite things about your current setup?

My favorite things right now are the “chopped” decked system I have that allows for storage and an alley way for getting into the camper.

Another is the Kammok Crosswing awning, it’s so quick deploying and seamlessly attaches to the SP rails. Shade is a must have in Texas.

Third is a recently installed passenger side window on the hatch door. It’s mostly for our pup Suna to have some airflow at night, but could also be a closer step to cooking and selling tacos from inside the camper.

Favorite thing about your X1 Camper?

Aside from how easy it is to set up, I really love using it as a mobile garage. I’m able to keep my camp gear, fishing gear, and bike gear inside the truck at all times. It makes getting outside and doing things so much easier.

Top 3 Recommended / Favorite Super Pacific Accessories?

  • Molle panels, they’re so versatile and well built. I love being able to place them anywhere inside the camper.
  • The Dirtbag Cargo Pack stores stuff nicely, and it’s so useful to be able to see through the pack and know what I’m looking for.
  • Lastly is the HuckPack Seat Back Organizer. I don’t actually own one but it has been one of my favorite accessories to see how people use the modular system.

What's a personal goal you're working towards right now?

Right now I’m working on building a family. I want to share the love for being outside with my wife, kid(s) and doggo.

When you die, what do you want to be remembered for?

I’d like to be remembered for being adventurous, well-traveled, good husband, father, and friend that could trick any fish to eat a fly.

Favorite camping trip?

My favorite camping trip was in 2021 with our close group of friends. We caravanned through Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Arizona. It was summer so we spent nights at high elevation to keep cool. Along the way we rode mountain bike trails, caught and cooked trout, and took as many off-road trails we could to get to each camp site. The stoke was high, and everyone had a great time. We relied on the careful planning of our group leader, and the rest was luck. One of our friends almost flipped their camping trailer on a slick muddy climb in the rain. And at the end of the trip when it was just my wife and I, our truck experienced a front passenger tire blowout. But most of all I remember smiling the hardest around campfires every night. It’s something I’ll always remember.
