The Escape Rig: 2021 Toyota Tacoma
As a fully remote worker, Hunter Pauley has merged his passion for the outdoors with a fully remote lifestyle as a dietician and content creator. From braving a night in a fire tower during a thunderstorm to kicking back in a portable hot tub in the woods, Hunter is constantly pushing his limits in the Montana back country.
How'd you get started in the outdoors?
I owned a Subaru Forester XT prior to getting my 2021 Tacoma. With the Subaru, I was able to get into some pretty amazing places to hike, but never was that much into camping. I started going down the rabbit hole of looking for a tent to add to my Subaru and quickly realized I would want something else eventually. That prompted the purchase of the Tacoma and really the rest is history. What just started as buying a bed rack and roof top tent eventually landed me in the Super Pacific X1 camper 3 years down the road.

How have you customized your X1 Camper?
I set up my X1 for short or long adventures all while keeping in mind the ability to camp year round with an integrated diesel heater. The Goose gear system also allows for organization yet enough room for me to still stand, edit, and change inside the back of the bed. Along with the goose gear, I run Starlink which allows me to stay out there longer or in more remote places while still being able to work remotely.
