Truma VarioHeat Integration

The Truma VarioHeat is the heater we recommend for the X1 because it is compact, quiet and built for small spaces. It has intelligent fan control for efficient heating, digital thermostat control, and it vents propane moisture outside the camper. Here is why we prefer it to a diesel heater:

• No diesel smell. Diesel will almost certainly spill at some point, and the smell is hard to get out of your camper and your gear. Propane does not have that problem.
• One fuel for everything. Propane runs your heater, your cook stove, your HOWL fire pit and other common propane accessories, so you carry and manage a single fuel.
• Quick setup. Connect to propane and turn it on.
• No propane stored inside your camper. Our QuickDraw propane bracket keeps your tank outside the camper.

Burning propane does create water vapor, which is why unvented propane heaters can leave a camper damp. The VarioHeat is not an unvented heater. It is a sealed-combustion furnace that pulls its combustion air from outside and sends its exhaust, including that moisture, back outside through the exterior intake and exhaust port. Nothing from the burn is released inside the camper, so you get dry, comfortable heat without fogged windows or damp bedding from the heater.

Yes. The VarioHeat is one of the quietest heaters you can put in a small space. Its NightMode setting is built for sleeping, so it keeps the camper comfortable and runs quietly all night long.
