How is CloudCap different than traditional van pop-tops?
Fiberglass pop-tops have been around for years (think Westfalia) and are primarily designed for RV style camping. They offer additional sleeping space on your van's roof, but otherwise severely limit your ability to add more adventure-minded accessories to your van's roof, without a custom solution (Lightbars, awnings, solar panels, cross-bars, Starlink mounts, etc.).
A Walkable Roof: Unlike most fiberglass pop-tops, CloudCap's honeycomb composite roof is capable of supporting a person standing and walking on it, up to 300 lbs.
Gear Mounting: CloudCap™ features over 1,200" of universal t-slots - more than any rooftop tent on the market. This means you're free to mount any accessory you can imagine.
Premium Engineering: CNC-machined billet allumnium hardware, architectural-grade UV-stable anodizing and premium powdercoating.
Made in The USA: CloudCap™ is proudly manufactured and assembled in the USA.
Simple Installation: Most fiberglass pop-tops require the entire roof of your van's roof (including structural members) to be cut and removed to install the pop-top. It requires substantial support to be installed, and takes days to complete.
CloudCap installation is designed to be simple and minimally invasive to your van's structure. uses simple mounting brackets mounted don't effect the structural integrity of your van. Installation usually takes 4-5 hours to complete.
