The overall strap design is smart however during our first use pulling up the tailgate with the strap the knot that “fastens” the strap to the fabric section that secures to the tailgate bolt slipped through the holes in the this folded over fabric piece. This fabric piece used to catch this knot has too much flex and give…so the retention knot slipped through. I added a washer on the back side to make the system better. Now the strap works.
